What information helps diagnose this issue?

Provide the appliance brand, full model number, fault code or indicator pattern, and whether the pilot stays lit, the spark operates, or the main burner starts.

Do I need a complete control replacement?

Not necessarily. Pilot quality, switches, power, grounding, wiring and flame proving need to be checked before deciding which part has failed.

FIREPLACE SERVICE EXPLAINED

Fireplace diagnostics and service for the Greater Toronto Area

Gas fireplaces use different ignition and flame-proving designs. A standing pilot with a thermocouple or thermopile works differently from an electronic ignition module with flame sensing and safety controls.

We identify the model and ignition design, then inspect the pilot or igniter, flame signal, valve controls, burner and venting as appropriate. Service recommendations follow the actual test results.
