What information helps diagnose this issue?

Provide the appliance brand, full model number, fault code or indicator pattern, and whether the pilot stays lit, the spark operates, or the main burner starts.

Do I need a complete control replacement?

Not necessarily. Pilot quality, switches, power, grounding, wiring and flame proving need to be checked before deciding which part has failed.

POOL HEATER SERVICE EXPLAINED

Pool heater diagnostics and service for the Greater Toronto Area

Pool heaters use water-flow safety switches, temperature sensing, ignition controls and gas burners. An accurate repair starts by checking the operating sequence and identifying which safety condition prevents the heater from running.

We assess filter and pump flow, pressure switches, flame-proving components, igniters, control boards, gas train and exchanger condition where applicable. We provide a clear diagnosis before recommending a repair.

Typical diagnostic starting points

Water flow must be adequate before a gas pool heater fires. Ignition and temperature controls vary by manufacturer and model.

Ignition and flame failure

A heater that sparks but does not ignite needs a model-specific ignition and flame-sensing check.

→

Water flow and pressure switches

Low flow, dirty filters, pump issues and faulty switches can interrupt the heater safety circuit.

→

Temperature sensors and controls

Sensor and thermostat faults can cause temperature errors or prevent the call for heat.
